We’re seeking a full-time
Data Engineer / BI Developer to join our team on a 6-month fixed term contract in
Brisbane. This is a 6-month fixed term role responsible for building and maintaining data models, including fact and dimension tables, that underpin reporting in Microsoft Fabric OneLake.
Working closely with the Data Business Analyst, the Data Engineer / BI Developer translates requirements into governed semantic models and Power BI solutions, ensuring consistent definitions, trusted data and reliable reporting across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain Gold layer data models and reporting structures that support informed decision-making across community and service delivery programs
- Develop trusted datasets covering clients, workers, properties and shifts to provide a clear view of operational activity
- Build and maintain Power BI reports and measures that deliver consistent, accurate and accessible insights
- Ensure data quality, consistency and governance across all reporting and data assets
- Support the migration of legacy reports and spreadsheets into a governed, structured data environment
- Work with stakeholders to translate operational needs into practical data and reporting solutions
- Document data models and reporting processes to support shared understanding and continuous improvement
About You
- Qualification in Computer Science, IT, Data Engineering or similar
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric or similar platforms (e.g. Databricks, Synapse, Snowflake)
- Proficient in Power BI, including data modelling, DAX and dashboard development
- Strong SQL skills for complex queries, CTEs and dimensional modelling across Gold/Silver layers
- Ability to translate business needs into data models and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience in health, aged care or disability sectors and/or Git and deployment pipelines is desirable
- Current Working with Children Check, and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance required
