- Turn good data into better decisions across Kanda's care services
- Monthly RDOs giving you an extra 12 days of leave per year
- Hybrid 6-month fixed term full-time role based at any of our Brisbane offices
Good decisions in care start with good data. Right now, Kanda's data foundations are being built — and this role is at the centre of it.
As a Data Engineer / BI Developer on a
6-month fixed term contract in Brisbane, you'll work closely with the Data Business Analyst to translate operational requirements into governed semantic models and Power BI solutions that people across the organisation can actually trust and use. It's technical, it's meaningful, and the reporting you build underpins decisions that affect real clients, workers and services every day.
What you'll be doing
- Designing and maintaining Gold layer data models and reporting structures that support decision-making across community and service delivery programs
- Developing trusted datasets covering clients, workers, properties and shifts to provide a clear view of operational activity
- Building and maintaining Power BI reports and measures that deliver consistent, accurate and accessible insights
- Ensuring data quality, consistency and governance across all reporting and data assets
- Supporting the migration of legacy reports and spreadsheets into a governed, structured data environment
- Working with stakeholders to translate operational needs into practical data and reporting solutions
- Documenting data models and reporting processes to support shared understanding and continuous improvement
You're the right person if...
- You hold a qualification in Computer Science, IT, Data Engineering or similar
- You have experience with Microsoft Fabric or similar platforms — Databricks, Synapse or Snowflake
- You're proficient in Power BI including data modelling, DAX and dashboard development
- You have strong SQL skills for complex queries, CTEs and dimensional modelling across Gold and Silver layers
- You translate business needs into data models and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- You hold a current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Experience in health, aged care or disability sectors and familiarity with Git and deployment pipelines is a bonus
