The Opportunity
We are seeking motivated and safety-focused Ground Crew members to join our Southwest team based in Busselton.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in physical work and is looking to build a career within the vegetation management industry.
Working alongside experienced Vegetation Workers and Arborists, you will assist in maintaining vegetation around the Western Power network while developing valuable skills and industry qualifications.
We support ongoing training and industry qualifications to help our people build long-term careers.
What You'll Be Doing
- Assisting with vegetation management and tree maintenance activities
- Pruning, cutting and removing branches and vegetation
- Operating chainsaws, chippers and other vegetation management equipment (where trained and authorised)
- Driving and operating company vehicles in accordance with licence requirements
- Identifying and reporting hazards and safety concerns
- Working collaboratively to maintain safe and efficient work practices
- Supporting crews across the Southwest region and wider WA network as required.
What We're Looking For
This role involves physically demanding outdoor work.
To be successful, you'll have:
- A valid HR or MR Manual Driver's Licence
- Strong physical fitness and endurance
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Willingness and ability to work away from the depot as required
- Commitment to a substance-free (drug and alcohol-free) workplace
- Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
Desirable Qualifications
The following will be highly regarded:
- Construction White Card
- First Aid and CPR Certification
