We are seeking a skilled Technical Support Specialist to join our Adelaide team and provide exceptional technical assistance to internal staff and external clients.
Position Summary
The Technical Support Specialist will be responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting system and software issues, maintaining IT infrastructure, and ensuring users receive prompt and effective assistance. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a customer-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for hardware, software, network, and application-related issues.
- Diagnose and resolve technical problems through phone, email, remote access, and onsite support.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices.
- Manage user accounts, passwords, and access permissions.
- Monitor IT systems and identify potential issues before they impact operations.
- Document support requests, solutions, and technical procedures.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and external vendors to resolve complex issues.
- Assist with system upgrades, software deployments, and technology projects.
- Maintain inventory records of IT assets and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with company IT security policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in technical support, help desk, or IT support roles.
- Strong understanding of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, networking fundamentals, and hardware troubleshooting.
- Experience with ticketing systems and remote support tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting engineering, construction, or manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of Active Directory, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity practices.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or ITIL are advantageous.
- Familiarity with VPNs, firewalls, and network administration.
