IKAD Engineering is a proud Western Australian private company with a national and international footprint. We provide a broad range of Project Management and Engineering solutions across a wide variety of Industry Sectors including Defence, Industrial, Mining, Marine, Oil & Gas, and Water Technology.
We are currently seeking applications for suitably qualified and experienced Boilermaker/Welders (Metal Fabricators) with extensive Pipefitting, Workshop and Marine fabrication experience to join our great local team.
The Role
You will possess a commitment to work as a team player, be adaptable to a changing environment, have the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and be prepared to work overtime and in remote locations when required to carry out the following duties;
- Reading and interpreting drawings or taking verbal instructions to mark out, cut, weld and assemble steel;
- Perform welding in accordance with approved weld procedures and codes;
- Interpret welding symbols to ensure correct welding techniques;
- Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems, units, fittings, and related machines and equipment, following specifications and using hand and power tools.
Fabricate Pipe Spools from Isometrics and spool samples;
Fabricate Pipe Spools from carbon steel, stainless steel, copper and nickel;
- Carry out basic maintenance of welding machine and equipment to keep a clean and safe work area; and
- Follow all workshop and site safety requirements.
The successful candidates must have previous workshop experience and be able to demonstrate the following essential personal attributes and skills:
- Sound knowledge all aspects of fabrication, including structural, plate work & piping with carbon steel & exotic materials
- FCAW/GTAW/MMAW welding experience
- Trade Qualified
- 5+ years’ trade experience
- Physically fit & enthusiastic
- Ensuring all activities are completed in a safe and efficient manner
- Identify and report potential safety hazards and take appropriate actions
- Confinded Space Entry and Working Safely at Heights
Desirable Tickets (not essential)
- Elevated Work Platform
- Recognised training certification in rigging, dogging & forklift
- Light Ridged Drivers licence
