Are you an experienced Payroll & HR professional who enjoys delivering accurate payroll while creating a positive employee experience? We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Payroll & HR Officer to join our People, Culture & Shared Services team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting our people across the entire employee lifecycle while ensuring payroll is processed accurately, compliantly and on time.
Reporting to the Head of People, Culture & Shared Services, you’ll be responsible for the end-to-end administration of payroll and HR processes. You’ll be the go-to person for payroll and employment administration, maintaining our Employment Hero HRIS and Payroll system and providing trusted support to employees and managers.
No two days are the same, and you’ll enjoy working across payroll, onboarding, employee changes, compliance, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Process end-to-end payroll accurately and on time, including leave, allowances, penalties and terminations.
- Maintain employee records within Employment Hero HRIS and Payroll.
- Coordinate onboarding, employment changes and offboarding.
- Prepare employment contracts, variations and HR correspondence.
- Interpret and apply Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements and National Employment Standards (NES).
- Manage superannuation, Single Touch Payroll (STP), payroll reconciliations and statutory reporting.
- Respond to payroll and HR inquiries from employees and managers.
- Assist with recruitment administration, probation reviews and training coordination.
- Prepare HR, workforce and payroll reports.
- Support compliance activities, policy administration and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
You’ll be an organised, customer-focused professional who enjoys working with people and has a passion for delivering accurate payroll and quality HR administration.
To be successful, you’ll bring:
- Experience in payroll and HR administration.
- Demonstrated experience using Employment Hero Payroll and HRIS.
- Sound knowledge of Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements and the National Employment Standards (NES).
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office and Excel skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A Certificate IV or tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline (desirable).
