We are looking for a Technical Specialist – Mobile to join our National Field Operations team. In this role, you'll be the local governance expert for our Mobile Assurance contract, ensuring vendors meet their WHS and quality obligations while providing technical leadership across incident and problem management. With mobile technology constantly evolving, you'll work across 3G, 4G, LTE and 5G — and whatever comes next.
What You'll Do
Conduct WHS inspections and quality assurance audits to ensure vendor compliance with contractual obligations.
Act as the technical escalation point for mobile technology incidents and complex problem management.
Liaise with Optus Tier 2 and Tier 3 engineering teams on technical issues, standards and end-of-life planning.
Contribute to the Field Centre of Excellence for Mobile Assurance alongside other field mobile Technical Specialists.
Support the Contracts Manager with tender scope development, vendor variation reviews and performance trend analysis.
Define technology roadmaps, facilitate vendor interfaces and drive quality control initiatives to deliver best-in-class services.
What makes you perfect for the role?
Extensive experience in mobile network topology including 2G, 3G, 4G, LTE and 5G environments.
Subject matter expertise in mobile radio and transmission technology.
Strong contract management and governance experience, ideally within a managed services environment.
Proven ability to manage complex technical escalations and communicate solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience in solution onboarding, implementation of new standards and upgrades.
A technical qualification in Telecommunications Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
