About the Role
Working as part of a residential care team, you will provide safe, consistent and therapeutic support to children and young people while helping them develop life skills, independence and positive connections.
Key Responsibilities

Create a safe, supportive and therapeutic home environment for children and young people.
- Support young people to develop life skills, independence, confidence and positive social connections.
- Assist with daily routines, education, appointments, recreation and community participation.
- Implement care plans, safety plans and other support strategies to promote positive outcomes.
- Maintain accurate documentation and collaborate with families, stakeholders and members of the care team.
Roster Requirements
This role operates on a 24/7 roster and requires availability for day, afternoon, sleepover, weekend and public holiday shifts. Availability to work sleepover shifts is an essential requirement of the role. Typical shifts include:

6am to 2pm
- 7am to 3pm
- 2pm to 10pm with sleepover to 6am
- 3pm to 11pm with sleepover to 7am
- Support shifts typically between 6am and 11pm based on program needs
About You
Our ideal candidate will:

Demonstrate resilience, patience and unconditional positive regard when supporting young people with complex needs.
- Build positive, professional relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
- Be emotionally regulated, self-aware and able to remain calm in challenging situations.
- Communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary care team.
- Apply trauma-informed practice and sound professional judgement in day-to-day support.
Essential Criteria

Hold, or be working towards, a Certificate IV or higher in Youth Work, Community Services or a related field (See Minimum Qualifications - information sheet - https://www.families.qld.gov.au/_media/documents/about-us/partners/licensing/minimum-qualification-standard-information-sheet.pdf).
- Hold a current Blue Card (or be willing to obtain one).
- Hold a current Open Driver Licence.
- Hold, or be eligible to obtain, a valid LCS suitability check.
