That’s why we support the diverse needs of everyone and have policies that enable us all to thrive and be truly flexible. We ensure diversity is celebrated for the opportunity it provides us all to learn and grow and deliver better outcomes for members.
Your New Role
Are you an enterprise architect who thrives on influencing complex organisations and driving clarity across ambiguity?
As Principal Enterprise Architect , you’ll sit within Architecture Services and play a critical role defining and shaping the Fund’s enterprise-wide architecture direction. This is a senior, highly visible role working across domains, ensuring technology decisions, platforms and delivery approaches align to a coherent, scalable, reusable, and future‑ready target state.
This role is about influence, communication and judgement as much as technical depth . You’ll work closely with senior business and technology stakeholders, translating complex architectural thinking into clear, practical guidance that enables better decisions and outcomes.
We’re looking for someone who has operated within mature, high-performing enterprise architecture practices, and understands what best‑in‑class looks like, and how to apply those effectively across multiple domains.
You’ll also play a key role in advancing how AI is utilised across Architecture and the wider Fund; helping shape how AI capabilities are designed, governed and embedded into enterprise platforms, and ensuring the organisation makes considered, scalable and responsible use of AI technologies.
What You’ll Do
Define and communicate enterprise architecture principles, standards and target states across Technology, Digital & Data and the broader business
Lead cross-domain trade-off analysis and decision facilitation for initiatives and capabilities with enterprise-wide impact
Translate strategy, regulatory obligations and emerging technologies (including AI) into practical guardrails, reference architectures and reusable patterns
Influence senior stakeholders through clear, evidence‑based communication and pragmatic recommendations
Drive alignment and reduce complexity across platforms by promoting standardisation and reuse
Uplift enterprise architecture capability across the organisation through coaching, mentoring and improved ways of working
What You’ll Need
- Extensive experience (typically, this looks like circa 15+ years) across enterprise architecture in complex financial services organisations.
- Proven experience operating within, or building out, mature, best‑in‑class architecture practices, with strong knowledge of frameworks such as TOGAF, ITIL or COBIT
- Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to translate complex architectural concepts into clear, practical insights for senior stakeholders (both verbally and written)
- Strong influencing capability, with a track record of guiding decisions without direct authority
- Deep understanding of regulated environments, including governance, risk, security and compliance considerations
- Experience working across multiple domains (e.g. platforms, cloud, data, security), with strong enterprise‑level thinking
- A strategic mindset with the ability to shape long‑term direction while supporting practical delivery outcomes
Passion for innovation, with a strong interest in advancing the use of AI within enterprise architecture and platform design
