CMP Oilseeds is a proudly Australian-owned and operated manufacturer of vegetable oils, protein meals and stockfeeds based in Yenda, NSW. We process canola, cottonseed and grapeseed into high-quality edible oils and stockfeed for domestic and export markets. As we continue to invest and grow, we're looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to take ownership of the electrical reliability of our plant and lead our electrical maintenance team.
The opportunity
This is a hands-on leadership role for an electrical professional who enjoys solving problems, building structure and keeping a busy processing plant running. You'll own the electrical maintenance strategy, lead a team of electricians, drive down downtime and support our engineering team in delivering projects that take the business forward. We're a Rockwell Automation site, running Allen-Bradley PLCs and Rockwell drives across the plant.
What you'll be doing
- Developing and driving a preventive and predictive maintenance strategy to support reliable, continuous operation
- Leading electrical fault finding and diagnosis across motors, Allen-Bradley PLCs, Rockwell drives, control systems, instrumentation and switchboards
- Managing and developing our team of maintenance electricians
- Producing and maintaining electrical drawings, single-line diagrams and documentation in AutoCAD
- Supporting the engineering team in the delivery of capital and improvement projects — from design through to commissioning
- Ensuring all electrical work and design complies with AS/NZS 3000 and relevant Australian Standards
- Championing a strong safety culture across all electrical work
What you'll bring
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, or a trade-qualified Electrician with strong industrial experience and engineering capability
- Solid working knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 and other relevant Australian electrical standards
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical drawings
- Proven experience developing and delivering maintenance strategies in an industrial or manufacturing setting
- Strong fault-finding skills across motors, drives, PLCs and instrumentation — Allen-Bradley/Rockwell experience highly regarded
- Experience leading or supervising electricians
- Experience supporting engineering or capital projects
- A current Australian driver's licence
Highly regarded: electrical licence, experience in food/oilseed/agricultural processing or heavy manufacturing, Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLC and drive experience (Studio 5000 / RSLogix, PowerFlex), SCADA experience, hazardous-area (Ex) knowledge, and CMMS experience.
