About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Finance, Data and Analytics, you'll provide high-quality financial insights to support decision-making, exercise professional judgement on complex accounting matters, and ensure strong financial governance and control frameworks are maintained.
As a senior member of the finance team, you’ll provide oversight and guidance to junior team members and contribute to the continued improvement of financial processes, systems and reporting practices.
Key responsibilities include
- Leading the preparation and review of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
- Owning and maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, including reconciliations, journal processing and financial control.
- Identifying, investigating and resolving discrepancies of inconsistencies in financial data and processes.
- Supporting business decision making by providing financial advice and interpretation of financial results.
- Acting as a key contact for external stakeholders, including auditors, banking institutions and regulatory bodies, as required.
- Providing guidance and support to the Finance Advisor and Graduate Financial Accountant.
What you'll need:
- Demonstrated experience in financial accounting, including the preparation and review of financial reports, reconciliations and statutory compliance.
- Proven ability to analyse financial data and provide clear insights and recommendations to support decision making.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls and reporting standards including their practical application in complex environments.
- Experience contributing to budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Ability to identify and resolve issues in financial data and implement appropriate solutions.
- Well-developed communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently, exercising sound judgement while contributing effectively within a team environment.
- Demonstrated leadership capability, including the ability to provide guidance, oversight and support to team members, and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- CPA or CA qualification.
