About the role
The Momos Hub is one of Sydney’s leading Nepalese restaurants, renowned for delivering authentic Nepalese cuisine and exceptional customer service in the heart of Sydney CBD. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Restaurant Manager to lead our operations at 636 George Street, Sydney NSW 2000.
This is a full-time leadership role responsible for managing all aspects of restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, maintaining high service standards, and driving business growth. The successful candidate will be a passionate hospitality professional with strong leadership skills and a proven track record in restaurant management. In addition, the role will also involve providing occasional support and oversight for our second store, Boat Store, as required, to help ensure consistent standards across both locations.
Key responsibilities
● Oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring efficient and smooth service.
● Lead, supervise, recruit, train and mentor front-of-house and operational staff.
● Develop staff rosters and manage labour costs to achieve operational efficiency.
● Deliver exceptional customer service and promptly resolve customer enquiries and complaints.
● Ensure compliance with all food safety, workplace health and safety, liquor licensing and hospitality regulations.
● Monitor inventory, order supplies, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
● Manage restaurant budgets, control food and beverage costs, and maximise profitability.
● Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to increase revenue and customer satisfaction.
● Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure food quality, presentation and service standards are consistently maintained.
● Manage reservations, seating arrangements and customer flow during busy service periods.
● Prepare operational and financial reports for senior management.
● Support marketing initiatives, promotional campaigns and community engagement activities.
● Maintain a positive workplace culture focused on teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement.
● Provide occasional management support and oversight for our second store, Burwood Store, including assisting with operations, staff coordination and service standards when required.
What we’re looking for
● Minimum three years’ experience in a Restaurant Manager or similar hospitality management role.
● Relevant qualification in Hospitality Management, Business Management or a related field is highly desirable.
● Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate diverse teams.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost control and profit improvement.
● Experience using restaurant management systems and POS software.
● Sound understanding of Australian food safety, workplace health and safety, and liquor licensing requirements.
● Exceptional organisational and problem-solving skills.
● Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment.
● Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
● Passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences and maintaining high hospitality standards.
● Ability and willingness to occasionally look after our second store, Boat Store, when needed.
● Experience with Nepalese or South Asian cuisine is highly regarded but not essential.
