We are currently seeking a skilled Steel Fixer to join our team full-time at the Western Harbour Tunnel project in Rozelle. As a Steel Fixer, you will play a crucial role in the tunnel's construction, ensuring that all steel rebar is properly placed and secured in concrete structures to provide strength and durability.
**Responsibilities:**
- Read and interpret construction drawings to determine the layout and placement of steel reinforcement
- Cut, bend, and secure steel rebar using tools such as rebar cutters, benders, and tie wires
- Install steel cages and mesh for concrete pours
- Inspect and ensure the quality of completed work to meet project specifications
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations on the construction site
**Requirements:**
- Prior experience as a Steel Fixer in the construction industry
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
- Proficiency in using rebar cutting and bending tools
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Valid construction White Card
