About the Role
As a Senior Project Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across the full project lifecycle, from tender development and design governance through to construction, commissioning and handover. You will lead multidisciplinary engineering teams, drive technical excellence and ensure projects are delivered safely, compliantly and commercially. This is a pivotal role where your expertise will influence engineering decisions, manage project risk and deliver successful outcomes across complex utility and electrical infrastructure projects.
Key Accountabilities

Provide technical leadership and governance across complex projects, ensuring engineering designs, methodologies and quality standards meet project, regulatory and safety requirements.

Lead pre-construction activities including tender strategy, constructability reviews, design risk assessments and stakeholder engagement to support successful project delivery.

Provide senior technical support throughout delivery by resolving complex engineering issues, overseeing compliance, monitoring project performance and driving risk mitigation.

Lead commercial and contractual engineering activities, including technical reviews of variations, claims, subcontractor performance and cost management.

Mentor and develop engineering teams while building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, regulators and internal stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.
About You
You are an experienced engineering leader with a strong background in delivering complex infrastructure or utility projects. You combine exceptional technical expertise with commercial acumen and have a proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, influence stakeholders and resolve complex engineering challenges. You are passionate about safety, quality and continuous improvement and enjoy developing others while driving high-performance project delivery.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Electrical or Mechanical).

Current Class C Driver Licence.

General Construction Induction (White Card), or willingness to obtain.

Full working rights in Australia.

Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and/or utility design signatory authorisation will be highly regarded.
Skills & Experience
You bring extensive experience leading engineering delivery across major infrastructure or utility projects, with expertise in technical governance, design management, constructability, commercial risk and project delivery. You have strong knowledge of engineering standards, regulatory frameworks and contract management, supported by excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Experience with project planning and cost management tools, together with a commitment to mentoring engineers and driving continuous improvement, will set you up for success in this role.
