Our Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially focused Legal Counsel – Investments to join our team supporting our Investments business across the full lifecycle of transactions and asset management activities.
Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel – Investments, with a close working relationship to the General Counsel, Funds Management, you will provide strategic legal advice across acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, funds management and asset operations. Working alongside senior stakeholders across Investments, Development, Capital Transactions and New Business teams, you will play a key role in identifying legal risks, driving commercial outcomes and supporting the performance of Mirvac’s investment portfolio.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing legal advice across acquisitions, disposals, leasing, joint ventures and funds management transactions.

Negotiating and documenting complex property and commercial agreements, including co-owner arrangements, investment management agreements and development-related contracts.

Supporting competitive transaction processes, new investment opportunities and strategic portfolio initiatives.

Partnering with internal stakeholders to identify, mitigate and manage legal and regulatory risks.

Assisting with legal reporting, governance, compliance and risk management activities across the Investments division.

Developing legal precedents, training programs and best-practice processes that drive consistency and efficiency.

Managing external legal advisors to ensure high-quality outcomes and value for money.

Contributing to the adoption of technology and innovation to enhance legal service delivery.
Your Point of Difference
You are a commercially astute legal professional who enjoys partnering with the business to deliver practical, solutions-focused advice. You bring strong technical capability combined with the confidence to manage stakeholder relationships and navigate complex transactions in a fast-paced environment.
You will have:
- A current Australian legal practising certificate and at least 4+ years' post-qualification experience, gained in private practice and/or an in-house environment.

Experience advising on property, corporate, investment, funds management or large-scale commercial transactions.

Strong working knowledge of the Corporations Act, FIRB requirements and competition and consumer law.

Excellent drafting, negotiation and legal research skills.

The ability to identify legal risks while balancing commercial objectives.

Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management capabilities, with a proactive and collaborative approach.
