Newcastle Private Hospital is currently looking for motivated, enthusiastic experienced Registered Nurse’s to join our close-knit, friendly and hardworking Coronary Care Unit team on a full-time basis.
Part-time or Casual work is also available.
This role provides an opportunity to work with a progressive and dynamic team of Cardiologists, with close collaboration and cross skilling opportunities with the staff of the Angiography Suite.
You would be available to work within a flexible work environment, whilst being committed to providing a high standard of customer care in a fast-paced environment.

Come and join our expert team of surgeons, specialist doctors, dedicated nurses and allied health professionals at Newcastle Private Hospital. We are a 189 bed, acute, private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. The hospital has 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit.
We also have a cardiac suite including a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16 bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite including 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery is available for families in the Newcastle region. Newcastle Private Oncology Centre provides specialty care for individuals and their families/carers undergoing all aspects of cancer treatment and care with both an inpatient unit and day infusion lounge.
As a Registered Nurse - Coronary Care your responsibilities will include:
- Deliver safe, researched-based standards of nursing care
- Collaborate with the Cath Lab team on coronary angiograms, pacemakers, vascular procedures and more
- Lead successful quality improvement and safety management project/s to deliver desired outcomes
- Work collaboratively with the wider healthcare team to support patient care needs
- Act as a role model for Safe Practice
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum 3 years’ clinical experience in an acute Coronary Care unit is preferred although we also welcome junior applicants to apply
- Valid NSW Working with Children check
- Bachelor of Nursing (Or equivalent)
- Current Registration (no restriction) with AHPRA
- Valid Australian work rights
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
- Clinical expertise and commitment to high quality patient care and continuous improvement
- Self-motivated and proven ability to work as part of a high functioning team
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, proactive, motivated and customer focused
