The new state-of-the-art facility will service over 1000 supermarkets nationwide with more than 12,000 product lines.
With the capacity to move 2.3 million cartons each week, this 44,900 sqm facility - equivalent to almost three times the size of the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) - will strengthen Primary Connect’s national supply chain.

What you’ll do
-
Manage the transport operations within budget expectations to ensure effective provision of ongoing service to stores whilst delivering end to end cost targets
-
Create and maintain positive partnerships with 3PL transport providers within metro scope, including daily task coordination activities as well as regular performance reviews with relevant carriers

Manage the interaction between Woolworths DC operations, 3PL service providers and our Store network
-
Work with 3PL partners to optimise planning, allocation, and fleet utilisation, minimising costs and improving operational efficiencies.

Manage peak season events and contingency plans, ensuring business continuity.

Oversee daily site operations, including monitoring loading procedures and resolving customer issues.

Lead and mentor a small team ensuring multi-skilling, development and continuous improvement.

Actively drive a safety culture ensuring that all business activities and teams within the Moorebank Transport Operations are compliant with relevant legislation & company policies
What you’ll bring
-
Proven experience in managing transport operations & 3PL carriers performance, ideally within a large FMCG / Retail environment

Demonstrated achievements in service delivery and cost management

Commercial acumen & experience in managing operational budgets

Personal “hands-on” leadership and coaching skills including the ability to support and engage your teams, drive positive change and lead from the front
-
A high level of communication and interpersonal skills, including excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills
-
Understanding of SH&E matters including COR regulations and codes of practice
-
Flexibility to be available for out-of-hours escalations including weekends
