We are looking for an experienced People & Culture Business Partner to join our People & Culture team and provide practical, commercially focused support across an operational portfolio.
Reporting to the General Manager, People & Culture, you will partner closely with operational leaders and managers to provide proactive People & Culture advice across the full employee lifecycle.
This is a hands-on Business Partner role with a strong focus on employee relations, manager coaching, organisational change and workforce planning.
You will be trusted to manage matters end-to-end, build strong relationships with leaders and provide practical solutions that balance employee experience, operational requirements and business risk.
Your responsibilities will include:

Partnering with operational leaders across an assigned portfolio.

Providing practical and commercially focused People & Culture advice.

Managing employee relations matters from commencement through to resolution.
-
Supporting disciplinary, grievance and workplace investigation processes.
-
Coaching managers through performance management and difficult conversations.
-
Supporting restructures, consultation, redeployment and redundancy processes.

Advising on Modern Awards, enterprise agreements, contracts and policies.

Identifying emerging workforce risks and working proactively with leaders to address them.

Supporting workforce planning and recruitment requirements.

Supporting new contract mobilisations and business transitions.

Partnering with leaders to build stronger people management capability.

Contributing to broader People & Culture projects and employee experience initiatives.

Supporting the continuous improvement of People & Culture processes and service delivery.
You are an experienced People & Culture professional who enjoys working closely with operations and solving real business problems.
You will ideally bring:

Previous experience as a People & Culture Business Partner, HR Business Partner, Senior HR Advisor or similar.

Strong employee relations experience.

Experience managing disciplinary, performance and investigation matters.

Confidence coaching and influencing operational managers.

Strong working knowledge of Australian employment legislation.

Experience interpreting Modern Awards, enterprise agreements and employment conditions.

Strong written communication and documentation skills.
-
Sound judgement and the ability to manage sensitive matters appropriately.

A practical, solutions-focused approach.

The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Confidence working in a fast-paced and changing environment.
Experience in facilities management, cleaning, security, hospitality, aviation or another operational workforce environment would be highly regarded.
Experience supporting a large, geographically dispersed and unionised workforce would also be advantageous.
