Chef – Full-Time
The View on Mount Glorious is seeking a passionate and experienced Chef to be part of our welcoming, friendly and supportive kitchen team at our picturesque venue at Mount Glorious (50 minutes from Brisbane CBD).

Employment Type: Full-Time (38 hours per week)
Salary: $80,000 – $85,000 per annum, plus superannuation
About the role
As a Chef, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality food and maintaining excellent kitchen standards. You will work as part of our kitchen team to ensure consistent food quality, efficient service and compliance with food safety requirements.
This is a genuinely high-volume kitchen. During busy periods, we regularly process around 60 orders per hour, with peak periods reaching up to 80 orders per hour. The ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure, while maintaining consistent food quality and presentation, is essential.
The role requires flexibility across our operating hours as the business continues to grow and expand, including potential evening trade, functions and special events.

Key responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, cook and present high-quality meals in accordance with the restaurant's menu and standards
- Assist in the development of seasonal menus, specials and new menu offerings
- Ensure all food is prepared and presented consistently to a high standard
- Monitor food quality, portion control and presentation
- Maintain appropriate stock levels and assist with ordering food supplies
- Inspect the quality of ingredients and ensure proper storage of food items
- Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety regulations at all times
- Minimise food wastage and maintain cost-effective kitchen operations
- Assist in training and supervising junior kitchen staff where required
- Work collaboratively with management and front-of-house staff to ensure efficient service
About you
- A Certificate III or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, or an equivalent qualification
- A minimum of one (1) year of full-time experience working as a Chef
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and maintain quality during high-volume service
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations
- Sound understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to remain organised, efficient and composed during busy service periods
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Must be available to work Saturdays and Sundays, as weekends are an essential part of the regular roster
- The usual working week will be Wednesday to Sunday, with Monday and Tuesday as rostered days off
- Flexibility to work public holidays, evenings, functions and special events as required as the business continues to expand
- Own reliable transport, as there is no public transport available to Mount Glorious
- The ability to reliably travel to and from Mount Glorious for rostered shifts
Due to our mountain location and the operational requirements of the role, applicants who do not already live locally should be willing to relocate within reasonable proximity to Mount Glorious to ensure reliable availability for rostered shifts.
