The Role
Working closely with the Senior Manager, Responsible Investment, you’ll deliver high quality ESG research, analysis, reporting and engagement to support informed investment decisions.
The role demands strong technical and analytical capability, with a focus on hands on execution, working in the detail, managing ESG data and processes, and delivering robust, high quality outputs to support the Fund’s responsible investment objectives.
What you’ll do
- Selection, Monitoring and Reporting: Complete ESG due diligence on investment opportunities, including hands on data collection, scoring, documentation and report preparation. Support ESG reviews and summarise findings clearly for internal stakeholders. Prepare and maintain internal ESG metrics, dashboards and reporting, with a strong emphasis on data accuracy, governance requirements and ongoing portfolio monitoring.
- Policy and Strategy: Support the ongoing maintenance and practical application of the Fund’s responsible investment policies, frameworks and procedures. Help to ensure policy updates are understood and applied consistently across investment processes and monitor relevant regulatory and standards developments.
- Research & Implementation: Conduct targeted ESG research, including analysis of sector risks, controversies, standards and data sources. Prepare ESG briefing materials and committee inputs as required and review ESG data providers, external ratings and stewardship inputs to ensure they are reliable and fit for use.
- Engagement: Support stewardship and engagement activities, including proxy voting, with a focus on execution and follow through. Monitor voting outcomes and engagement activity, prepare clear internal summaries, and coordinate tracking with external managers and stewardship providers to ensure actions and outcomes are properly recorded.
- Cross-functional ESG initiatives: Provide analytical and coordination support for organisation wide ESG initiatives (e.g., AASB S2, climate strategy, modern slavery, biodiversity etc). Collaborate as needed with other teams to ensure ESG related workstreams are delivered on time and to required standards.
