Swick Mining Services, part of the global Perenti Group, is Australia’s largest underground diamond drilling contractor with innovative and reliable rigs operating across Australia and internationally.
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. In this key role, you will take ownership of electrical design projects, support rig builds, the maintenance and operations teams, and help ensure our electrical systems are safe, compliant, reliable and fit for purpose across our operations.
The Role
As an Electrical Engineer, your duties will include:
- Take ownership and manage electrical designs projects them from cradle to grave
- Ensure all electrical systems meet the necessary regional and industrial compliance requirements
- Provide active support to rig build teams in workshop, in collating build instructions and records
- Provide field support to electrical maintenance and operations teams with troubleshooting and issue resolution
- Ensure sustainability of the electrical designs by engaging with suppliers to ensure parts used in electrical systems are reliable and readily available
- Manage stakeholder communications
- Ensure all works conducted with no compromise on safety
The Candidate
To be considered for this position, the following criteria must be met:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical or Mechatronic engineering, recognized by Engineers Australia
- 5+ years of work experience in design or maintenance of LV/HV electrical systems
- Fluent with AS 3000, AS 4871 standards
- Experience in mining or heavy mobile plant equipment
- Experience in conduction and managing functional safety assessment
- Proficient in electrical systems design and documentation
- Proficient in understanding of machine safety, functional safety and regulatory standards
- Exposure to industrial controls, PLC programming, power systems analysis
- Familiar with CAD software like AutoCAD, Solidworks or Revit
- Posses strong problem solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to manage competing priorities from internal stakeholders
- Ability to work independently, collaborate and communicate effectively
- Ability to work as a strong team player
