About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Shutdown Supervisor to join our growing team across major mining, power station, and industrial shutdown projects throughout Australia. This role is suited to a hands-on leader with strong shutdown coordination experience and a solid background in heavy industry, maintenance, and safety management.
The successful candidate will supervise crews, coordinate shutdown activities, ensure work is completed safely and efficiently, and maintain high-quality standards across all project operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise shutdown crews across mining and industrial sites
- Coordinate daily shutdown activities and work schedules
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and on time
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety meetings
- Monitor project progress and manage site productivity
- Liaise with clients, management, and subcontractors
- Ensure compliance with site safety procedures and regulations
- Manage permits, risk assessments, and shutdown documentation
- Support boilermakers, welders, fitters, and trades personnel onsite
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Shutdown Supervisor in mining, power stations, oil & gas, or heavy industry
- Trade qualification preferred (Boilermaker, Mechanical Fitter, or similar)
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Excellent understanding of shutdown planning and execution
- Ability to manage teams under pressure and meet deadlines
- Current Working at Heights and Confined Space tickets
- Valid Driver Licence
- Strong commitment to workplace safety
Desirable
- High Risk Work Licences
- First Aid Certificate
- EWP, Forklift, or Rigging tickets
- Experience with SAP or shutdown management systems
