The Opportunity
Reporting to the Finance Manager and working closely with other key stakeholders, the Payroll Officer is responsible for delivering a professional and employee focused payroll service across the College.
As a valued member of our team, you will:
- Manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
- Oversee payroll administration throughout the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employment changes, and final payments.
- Maintain payroll records, employee data, and payroll systems to ensure accuracy, compliance, and data integrity.
- Support payroll compliance with Awards, employment legislation, superannuation obligations, and College policies.
- Manage payroll reporting, reconciliations, and audit requirements.
- Contribute to salary budgeting, workforce reporting, and payroll related analysis.
- Provide professional guidance and support to employees regarding payroll processes, leave entitlements, deductions, and payroll systems.
- Receive and process staff absence notifications, ensuring timely recording and actioning of leave requirements and updating documentation into leave applications.
- Partner with Finance and Human Resources to continually improve payroll processes and service delivery.
- Contribute positively to the culture, mission, and community of Melton Christian College.
About Yout
The successful candidate will:
- Have demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll processing within the education sector or a similarly complex environment is desirable.
- Hold relevant qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Business, or demonstrate equivalent industry experience.
- Demonstrate alignment with the Christian ethos and expression of faith of the College.
- Possess strong knowledge of payroll legislation, Awards interpretation, taxation, and superannuation requirements.
- Previous experience working with ELMO payroll and accounting systems is desirable.
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Be highly organised with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Possess well developed communication and relationship building skills.
- Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
