About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, professional and dynamic Senior Accountant to join our team on a full-time basis. You will be engaging with our diverse client base within the SME environment, offering various business services including taxation, bookkeeping, superannuation and advisory. The role also provides exposure to a broader range of corporate advisory matters as client needs arise, offering scope to develop across the full spectrum of accounting practice.
Duties and responsibilities
- Assisting in the management and mentoring of graduate accountants.
- Preparation of financial statements and tax returns for a wide client base (including SMSFs);
- Assisting clients with the management of business and tax obligations and lodgement deadlines (including BAS's and IAS's);
- Providing tax advice to clients across a range of compliance and planning matters;
- Advising on the tax and ownership structuring considerations that arise from client transactions and business changes;
- Engaging regularly with clients and maintaining strong relationships;
- Forecasting tax predictions, understanding the financial landscape and market trends to identify and pre-empt potential tax exposures;
- Preparing and advising on business management reports to provide insight into the financial performance of clients;
- Supporting the analysis and valuation of client businesses as part of broader advisory engagements;
- Preparing the calculations and workpapers that underpin group restructures and consolidations; and
- Assisting in the management and mentoring of graduate accountants.
Skills and experience
- Full time;
- Tertiary Accounting qualifications;
- CA/CPA qualified or near completion;
- 4+ years' public practice experience;
- Experience with MYOB, Xero and BGL platforms (CLASS looked favourably upon);
- Ability to manage SMSF compliance and advisory engagements;
- Strong technical and communication skills (written and verbal);
- Comfortable working across a broad advisory scope, including financial analysis and structuring matters as they arise within client engagements; and
- Able to assist in managing graduate accountant
Pay: $90,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
