We're expanding our team and are looking for compassionate, energetic and reliable Community Support Workers who genuinely enjoy helping people achieve greater independence, confidence and quality of life.

We are currently recruiting several casual Community Support Workers to join our growing team. These roles involve supporting people with disability and older people in their homes and local communities.
Successful applicants may be offered regular weekly shifts with one or more clients, depending on experience, availability, location and skill match.
About the Roles
We have a variety of casual shifts available, including:
- Community access and social participation shifts
- Morning personal care and daily routine support
- School, appointment and community transport shifts
- Shopping and social support for older people
- Longer day program shifts focused on independence, community participation and life skills
Shifts may range from 2 hours to 6 hours, with opportunities to work one or more days per week.
Some shifts may involve supporting clients who use wheelchairs or mobility aids. Other shifts may involve community outings, swimming, cafés, shopping, appointments, walking programs, meal preparation, domestic assistance or personal care.
Current Shift Opportunities
We are currently seeking support workers for:
- Community participation shifts of approximately 5 hours, 1–2 days per week
- Pick-up and drop-off transport shifts of approximately 2 hours, 1–2 days per week
- Morning personal support shifts from 8:00am to 10:00am, up to 4 days per week
- Day program support shifts from approximately 9:00am to 3:15pm, 2 or more days per week
- Shopping and social support for an elderly Cantonese-speaking client, approximately 5 hours per week
For the Cantonese-speaking role, applicants must be able to speak both Cantonese and English.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide respectful, person-centred support.
- Assist clients to participate in community activities.
- Support clients with daily routines and personal goals.
- Provide transport to and from activities, appointments or community locations.
- Assist with mobility, transfers and wheelchair access where required.
- Support shopping, meal preparation and everyday life skills.
- Encourage independence, confidence and social connection.
- Follow individual care plans, routines and risk management procedures.
- Complete accurate shift notes and report any concerns.
- Communicate professionally with families, coordinators and The Helpers team.
Driving Requirements
Driving is an essential part of these roles.
Applicants must have:
- A valid Australian Driver’s Licence.
- Access to a registered, roadworthy and insured vehicle.
- A safe and reliable driving history.
- Confidence driving across Western Sydney and the Hills District.
Support workers may be required to drive either:
- Their own registered and insured vehicle, or
- Company vehicles, including vehicles designed for wheelchair transportation.
Training will be provided where required.
Essential Requirements
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR.
- Valid Australian Driver’s Licence.
- Registered and insured vehicle.
- Working With Children Check, where required.
- Smartphone with internet access.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Reliability, punctuality and professionalism.
Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, Aged Care or Community Services is desirable, but not essential for the right applicant.
Highly Regarded Experience
Experience in any of the following areas will be viewed favourably:
- Disability support
- Aged care
- Community access
- Personal care
- Wheelchair support
- Manual handling
- PEG feeding
- Swimming or aquatic activities
- Dementia support
- Behaviour support
- Cantonese language skills
Additional training can be provided where required.
