About the opportunity
The Aboriginal Cultural Capability Facilitator works with the Aboriginal Cultural Capability Team Leader to promote and champion cultural capability, safety and responsiveness throughout the organisation. The position develops key initiatives and delivers education and training for employees with a focus on the Respecting the Difference training, to enhance Aboriginal cultural capability and inclusivity within NSW Ambulance.
The position is dedicated to strengthening organisational cultural capability and engaging with local Aboriginal communities to drive meaningful change. The role collaborates with diverse stakeholders to deliver initiatives across NSW Health. It supports staff at all levels to build culturally safe and respectful practices, fostering an environment where Aboriginal staff and communities feel respected, valued, and supported. This position requires strong community connections and the ability to provide astute, respectful guidance to non-Aboriginal stakeholders.
The Aboriginal Cultural Capability Facilitator is primarily responsible for the rollout of NSW Ambulance's Aboriginal development training program, Respecting the Difference. This includes the coordination, facilitation, evaluation and reporting on learning outcomes for all staff, and the development of strategies for continuous quality improvement of the program. These initiatives are aimed at enhancing the ability of all staff across NSW Ambulance to improve service delivery through positive changes to practice, particularly when interacting with Aboriginal people as work colleagues and patients. This position requires a deep understanding of how history has impacted Aboriginal people today, particularly in respect to their health.

About You
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- This is an identified position for persons of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent. Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised by Section 14(d) of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act (1977).
- Relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent demonstrated experience in developing and delivering programs in the Aboriginal cultural capability training and/or workforce development.
- Demonstrated ability to address challenges related to cultural capability, inclusion and systemic barriers in diverse workplace settings.
- Demonstrated experience in training and group facilitation and presentation, particularly in cultural capability training.

Conditions

- No NSW Ambulance accommodation is provided.
- Employees currently undertaking an Extended Care Paramedic or Intensive Care Paramedic consolidation periods are eligible to apply however will need to complete all training and return of service obligations before accepting any relief/acting opportunities.
- Employees currently undertaking a Special Operations Team (SOT) consolidation period are not eligible to apply for positions other than SOT positions. This includes positions offered via merit selection, transfer lists or later transfer mechanism, expressions of interest or secondments.

Employment Type: Permanent Full Time
Salary Range: $114,251 - $134,809 per annum + Super & Benefits (Health Mgr Lvl 2)
Location: Sydney Olympic Park, with the option of a flexible workplace arrangement.
