About the role
As the Barista & Canteen Assistant, you will be responsible for operating the on-site café while supporting the Canteen Manager with food preparation, lunch service and catering requirements across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve coffee, hot beverages and café items to employees and visitors
- Process purchases through EFTPOS and payroll deduction systems
- Order coffee beans, milk and café supplies
- Maintain cleanliness and daily upkeep of coffee equipment and café areas
- Manage the canteen salad bar during lunch service
- Prepare sandwiches, wraps, toasties and fresh salad bowls
- Assist with food preparation, including cutting fruit and vegetables and stocking food stations
- Support the preparation and delivery of catering for meetings and site events
- Receive and put away deliveries and stock
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and food handling procedures
- Support the wider canteen team as required
About you
We are looking for someone who is committed, motivated, energetic, and reliable. You will also have:
- Experience as a Barista
- Experience in a commercial kitchen
- Safe Food Handling Certificate would be an advantage.
- Previous experience using a cash register
- Great customer service skills
- Able to work as part of a team and multitask
