About the Opportunity:
Join NT PHN in a key leadership role shaping how we communicate our impact across the Northern Territory. This is a maternity leave backfill until January 2028, offering the opportunity to lead a small, high-performing team and drive strategic communications and marketing initiatives that support organisational priorities, strengthen internal engagement, and deliver clear, consistent messaging across all channels.
About You:
If you are motivated and passionate about improving health outcomes in the Northern Territory. To be successful in this role you will be:
- An experienced communications professional with a strong background in marketing, communications or public relations and proven experience leading teams. You bring a strategic mindset, paired with the ability to translate ideas into practical and engaging campaigns and content.
- A confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, and you are comfortable adapting your communication style to suit a wide range of audiences. Your ability to manage competing priorities, maintain attention to detail, and deliver high-quality outcomes on time and within budget will set you apart.
You also bring experience across digital and traditional communication channels, including social media, and have a passion for creating meaningful, audience-focused content. Most importantly, you are collaborative, adaptable and motivated to contribute to a positive workplace culture and improved health outcomes for communities across the Northern Territory
About the role:
You will lead the planning and delivery of integrated campaigns, corporate communications and digital content, translating strategy into practical, high-quality outputs.
Key priorities include:
- Managing the delivery of key corporate publications, advertising and other promotions to positively represent the organisation.
- Leading internal communication to increase cross-division communication and support change management within the organisation.
- Implementing NT PHN’s key communication and marketing strategies, including the organisation’s Marketing and Communications strategy and Social Media Strategy. The role is expected to be able to translate all strategy into campaigns and delivery plans.
- Developing and leading the implementation of NT PHN’s new website, creating and implementing a highly effective website strategy for the organisation. This includes building processes and quality checks for all website content.
- Be the second level of approval for all internal and external communications, ensuring all content is accurate, easily understood and relevant for its communication channel.
- Providing strategic direction and content management expertise for NT PHN’s social media platforms and website (with an emphasis on user experience).
- Providing effective coaching, mentoring and professional development to direct reports, and apply appropriate recruitment, induction, and performance management principles to build a high performing team.
- Fostering positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to determine and deliver communication priorities in line with NT PHN’s strategic mission and the Marketing and Communications Strategy.
- Coordinating and distributing monthly media monitoring and supporting the Marketing and Communications Manager with all media enquiries.
