Ausea Fish is a growing seafood retail business located in Karingal Hub, Melbourne, offering premium
fresh seafood, oysters and sushi to the local community. We are seeking an experienced and
motivated Retail Manager to lead our store operations, drive sales performance, and deliver
outstanding customer service.
About the Role
The Retail Manager will organise and control the operations of our retail seafood business in
accordance with the responsibilities associated with– Retail Manager. The successful applicant will
oversee day-to-day store operations, stock management, staff leadership, customer service, and
business performance.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Managing the daily operations of the retail seafood store.
Determining product mix, stock levels and service standards.
Planning and implementing purchasing, merchandising and promotional activities.
Maintaining appropriate inventory levels and minimising stock loss and waste.
Promoting and advertising the store's products and services.
Monitoring sales performance and implementing strategies to achieve business targets.
Maintaining records of stock levels, financial transactions and operational performance.
Preparing and monitoring store budgets and expenditure.
Recruiting, training, supervising and performance managing retail staff.
Ensuring high standards of customer service and resolving customer enquiries and
complaints.
Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, food safety regulations
and company policies.
Liaising with suppliers and coordinating stock deliveries.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you should have:
Minimum 2–3 years of retail management experience.
Demonstrated experience supervising and leading retail teams.
Strong inventory control and stock management skills.
Experience with sales reporting, budgeting and retail operations.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
Experience in seafood, fresh food, grocery, butcher, deli or specialty food retailing will be
highly regarded.
Qualifications
Relevant qualification in Retail Management, Business, Management or a related field is
desirable; or
Equivalent relevant work experience in retail management.
