Concrete Repair Technician
Full Time
Occupation Tasks:
· Applies coats of plaster and cement, and smooths surfaces
· Mixes and applies plaster, cement and similar materials
· Repairs and smooths surfaces to uniform finish
· Applies protective coverings of plaster and cement
· Uses hand tools and trowels to apply materials
· Cuts, shapes and finishes using hand and power tools
· Lays bricks in mortar and repairs existing structures
· Repairs and maintains brickwork and related structures
· Applies damp-resistant materials
· Seals foundations with damp-resistant materials
· Uses hand and power tools
· Studying plans and specifications
· Removing old paint - filling holes and cracks and smoothing surfaces
· Applies paint, varnish and finishes to surfaces
· Fills holes and cracks
· Applies finishes to protect and maintain surfaces
· Seals and protects surfaces
· Uses brushes, rollers and spray equipment
· Preparing wall and floor surfaces by removing old tiles, grout and adhesive
· Applies adhesives and grout to fix tiles
· Fills gaps with grout and finishes joints
· Applies waterproofing systems
· Applies waterproofing systems and sealants
· Examining plans, measuring and marking surfaces
· Working collaboratively with supervisors, engineers and site personnel to ensure timely project delivery
· Ensuring all works are completed in compliance with relevant Australian Standards, project specifications and safety requirements
· Identifying and reporting defects, risks and non-conformances on site
· Maintaining tools, equipment and materials in accordance with company procedures
Skills and Experience:
· Demonstrated experience in concrete repair, construction or a closely related field
· Sound knowledge of concrete behaviour, repair techniques and materials
· Ability to apply repair products in accordance with technical specifications and quality standards
· Competence in the use of relevant tools, plant and equipment
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
· Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
Qualifications:
· Relevant trade qualification or minimum of 2–3 years’ industry experience in concrete repair, construction or a related field
· Construction Induction White Card (mandatory)
· Current driver’s licence (mandatory)
· Elevated Work Platform (EWP) ticket (desirable)
· Confined space and working at heights tickets (desirable)
· Ability to meet site-specific safety, medical and compliance requirements
Pay: $83,000.00 – $87,000.00 per year
