About the Role
Our Client is seeking a skilled and passionate Butcher to join the team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tradesperson to become part of a well-established, community-focused business in Hobart’s inner north. The successful candidate will play a central role in upholding the quality and standards our customers have come to expect. For the right candidate, sponsorship under Australia’s skilled worker visa program may be available.

Key Responsibilities
- Cut, prepare, and package a variety of meat cuts including beef, lamb, goat, and poultry with precision and care
- Work with our in-house processed beef, ensuring all products meet the highest quality standards
- Maintain a clean, organised workspace in strict accordance with food safety and hygiene requirements
- Provide knowledgeable and friendly customer service, advising on meat selection and preparation in line with our ethos
- Ensure proper storage of all products and manage stock levels with sustainability in mind
- Assist with inventory management and the ordering of supplies
- Maintain butchery equipment and ensure it remains in good working order
- Select and prepare meat for the production of smallgoods
- Operate machinery including grinders, mincers, mixers, and tenderisers
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as a qualified butcher, with a thorough understanding of various cuts and meat preparation techniques
- Sound knowledge of and commitment to food safety regulations and best practice hygiene standards
- Exceptional knife skills and confident use of butchery equipment
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to represent our commitment to quality in every interaction
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a close-knit team
- Genuine appreciation for high-quality, ethically raised meat and an understanding of paddock-to-plate principles
