A Qualified Electrician installs, maintains, tests, and repairs electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. They ensure all electrical work complies with safety regulations and electrical codes.
Typical job responsibilities include:
Installing wiring, switchboards, lighting, power outlets, and electrical equipment.
Reading and interpreting electrical plans and technical drawings.
Testing electrical systems to identify faults.
Repairing and replacing damaged electrical components.
Performing preventive maintenance on electrical systems.
Following workplace health and safety procedures.
Completing job reports and communicating with clients or site supervisors.
Typical requirements:
Completed electrical apprenticeship.
Recognized electrical qualification and trade licence.
White Card (for construction sites in Australia).
Good troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver's licence (often preferred).
Pay: $5,500.00 – $9,500.00 per month
