Reporting & Budget Analyst | Southern Adelaide Local Health Network
Join Southern Adelaide Local Health Network as a Reporting and Budget Management Analyst, working within the SALHN Regional Office to keep the network's finances on track. In this full-time fixed-term role through to August 2027, you'll prepare financial reports, monitor budget performance, and support forecasting across one of South Australia's largest health networks. If you have a sharp eye for detail and a background in financial analysis, this is an opportunity to put your expertise to work where it genuinely counts.
About the role:
Reporting to the Manager, this role is responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of financial business advice.
Duties for the role will include:
Ensuring the development and implementation of improved financial reporting and budgetary management across the health service, covering the strategic application of resources in line with the stated objectives of SA Health,
Provide assistance in monitoring budget processes ensuring deadlines are achieved,
Assisting in ensuring that comprehensive processes are in place to support budget development, which is aligned to SA Health budget principles,
Identifying factors likely to impact on the financial performance of the health service in future years,
Providing regular analysis and interpretation of the performance against agreed key performance objectives, identifying variances in financial results and providing advice on immediate and long-term corrective strategies,
Providing advice on strategies to ensure effective and efficient use of resources,
Ensuring accurate and timely submission of internal financial management and monthly monitoring reports for review and consideration by the health service
About you:
Tertiary qualifications in accounting, economics or related financial / business management field or studying towards this,
Strong leadership skills and abilities to motivate and inspire others to work together as a team to achieve objectives in a climate of significant change, with a commitment to a team orientated philosophy,
Self-motivated, organised, demonstrated initiative and an ability to operate independently while remaining focussed on agreed objectives that may have competing priorities,
Strong interpersonal and communication skills which demonstrate a capacity to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders on a range of sensitive and complex issues to achieve positive outcomes. Will be able to manage conflict and encourage win/win outcomes where possible,
Experience in providing positive leadership in a senior financial management role in a climate of reform and continuing change, with demonstrated success in increasing the effectiveness and accountability of the organisation,
Demonstrated experience in the strategic management of financial resources, undertaking financial business analysis, developing financial strategies to improve financial performance and providing concise written financial reports,
Experience in the effective development, implementation and management of a large organisational budget and forecasting within a framework of critical corporate objectives and in consideration of operational, political, financial and strategic issues
