The Opportunity
As a Structural Engineer, you will take a hands-on role in design and project delivery while developing your technical judgement, client relationships and multidisciplinary coordination skills. You will contribute to local work and participate in larger projects with colleagues across Queensland and other Australian offices.
- Undertake structural design calculations and prepare structural solutions for a range of building projects, including the assessment and strengthening of existing buildings.
- Prepare and review drawings, work with structural technicians to produce Revit models, and participate in BIM coordination to support project execution plans.
- Coordinate with engineers from other disciplines and contribute to project administration, correspondence and technical reports.
- Liaise directly with clients and other professionals with minimal supervision, building trusted working relationships through clear communication and reliable delivery.
- Undertake site supervision when required and support projects delivered by regional teams across Queensland and Australia.
At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas.
You will have the opportunity do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.
Is this role right for you?
We are looking for a motivated structural engineer who combines sound technical capability with a collaborative, organised and client-focused approach. You will bring:
A Bachelor of Engineering qualification recognised under the Washington Accord, with at least four years of relevant structural engineering experience on building projects and progress towards RPEQ.
Strong structural design ability and familiarity with Australian codes and practices, contract administration and submission procedures.
Experience preparing calculations and coordinating drawings and models; experience with Rhino/Grasshopper, Revit or programming is advantageous but not essential.
The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, plan effectively, manage competing priorities and meet project budgets and deadlines.
Clear communication, teamwork and relationship-building skills, with a commitment to professional development and sharing knowledge with others.
