About the role
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Pharmacist (Quality Control Officer) to join Apex Labs Pty Ltd in a full-time capacity. Based in Loganholme, QLD, this is a pivotal position within our organisation that bridges the gap between pharmaceutical science and industrial manufacturing processes. As an Industrial Pharmacist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, efficacy, and quality of pharmaceutical products throughout their development, manufacturing, and distribution lifecycle. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on product innovation whilst maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
What you'll be doing
1. Overseeing pharmaceutical Testing processes to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and relevant regulatory standards and Pharmacopoeial methods
2. Developing and implementing quality assurance protocols and standard operating procedures for pharmaceutical product testing, including analysis of pharmaceutical products by HPLC-MS, ICP-MS, FTIR and UV-vis.
3. Conducting stability testing and shelf-life assessments for pharmaceutical formulations
4. Managing regulatory documentation and liaising with regulatory bodies to maintain product approvals and registrations, including Analytical Method Validation as per ICH and TGA guidelines.
5. Troubleshooting analytical testing issues and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
1. Training and supervising analytical staff on sample handling, safety protocols and quality standards
2. Performing pharmaceutical calculations and formulation adjustments to optimise the efficiency of the analytical method, specifically for HPLC-MS and ICP-MS.
3. Conducting regular audits of analytical facilities and equipment to maintain compliance standards
4. Supporting analytical validaion and technical file submissions to regulatory authorities
What we're looking for
1. A recognised pharmacy degree or an equivalent Australian Pharmacy degree
2. Minimum of 7-8 years' experience working in pharmaceutical manufacturing or industrial pharmacy environments
3. Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines and regulatory frameworks governing pharmaceutical testing
4. Demonstrated experience with quality assurance and quality control procedures in pharmaceutical settings
5. Proficiency in pharmaceutical calculations, formulation science and testing processes
6. Excellent understanding of pharmaceutical regulations and compliance requirements in Australia
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare technical documentation
9. Experience with pharmaceutical testing software like LabSolution, LIMS and data management systems
10. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment whilst managing multiple priorities
11. Preferred: Experience in validation, stability testing and analytical testing within the pharmaceutical industry
