Primary objective
The Oral Health Remote Service Coordinator supports the effective delivery of oral health services to remote communities by coordinating
administrative, travel and placement arrangements for outreach clinical teams. The position develops and maintains the ongoing schedule
of remote clinical services in consultation with management, organises remote travel, and liaises with external contractors to ensure
outreach teams are appropriately placed and supported.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Develop, maintain and coordinate an ongoing schedule of remote oral health clinical services in consultation with management.
2. Arrange associated travel, accommodation and logistics for remote oral health teams in consultation with Specialist Outreach services
in the Northern Territory (SONT), government business managers and community health staff.
3. Provide high-level advice and operational support for outreach service planning, including identifying cost-saving opportunities and
ensuring Oral Health and contracted teams are equipped to deliver services to remote communities.
4. Liaise regularly with internal stakeholders, external agencies and community representatives to coordinate remote placements,
orientation and debriefing for teams undertaking outreach services, and to support service delivery requirements.
5. Develop, record and maintain procedures, systems and documentation to support effective logistics planning and remote outreach
coordination.
6. Coordinate administrative and financial processes, including timely payment of invoices, acting as the corporate credit card holder for
service-related purchases, procurement of office supplies and other ad hoc administrative support.
7. Identify, research and coordinate suitable locum providers to support remote oral health placements.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Sound knowledge of Northern Territory remote communities and demonstrated experience in managing outreach service schedules
and remote placements.
2. Demonstrated experience arranging travel, accommodation and logistics for remote service delivery in accordance with Northern
Territory Government travel policy framework and NT Health travel guidelines, including identifying cost-effective options.
3. Well-developed administrative, organisational and time management skills, including maintaining records, procedures and systems.
4. Sound experience in financial and procurement processes, including invoice processing, corporate credit card management and
compliance with financial management frameworks, policies and legislation.
5. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, and build productive
relationships with stakeholders, contractors, community representatives and clients.
6. Proven problem-solving skills and ability to respond to changing priorities to support continuity of remote service delivery.
