Engineer Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for buildings and/or infrastructure (e.g., steel, concrete, masonry, timber, and/or foundations).
- Develop structural calculations, models, and engineering drawings using relevant software.
- Prepare stamped reports, design memos, and construction documents in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
- Review architectural drawings and structural drawings for constructability, coordination, and design conflicts.
- Collaborate with project teams (architects, MEP engineers, geotechnical engineers, contractors) to resolve technical issues.
- Conduct plan checks and review shop drawings as required by project and permitting processes.
- Assist in construction support/field verification (RFI responses, site visits, troubleshooting) when needed.
- Ensure projects meet quality, safety, and regulatory requirements; maintain documentation.
- Support project estimating, schedules, and technical proposals (as applicable).
- Mentor junior engineers/technicians and contribute to internal technical standards and templates.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred for some roles).
- Experience with structural analysis/design software (common examples: ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, RAM, RISA, ANSYS, Revit Structural, etc.).
- Working knowledge of structural design codes and standards relevant to your region (e.g., IBC/ASCE/ACI/AISC or local equivalents).
- Proficiency with engineering calculations, drawing standards, and documentation practices.
- Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects/deadlines.
Licensure / certifications (varies by level)
- EIT/FE (common for entry-level).
- PE (Professional Engineer) license or ability to obtain (common for senior/signing roles).
Preferred qualifications
- Design experience in commercial/residential buildings or specific structure types (retail, high-rise, industrial, bridges, etc.).
- Experience with seismic/wind load design, lateral systems, and foundation design.
- Familiarity with Revit/AutoCAD and drafting workflows.
- Construction phase experience and comfort reviewing contractor/submittal packages.
Pay: $7,596.24 – $9,507.98 per month
