Experienced Handyperson – Maintenance & Renovations
We’re looking for an experienced handyman/maintenance worker to join our team.
This isn't a role for someone who only has experience with basic odd jobs. We're looking for someone with genuine hands-on experience in property maintenance, repairs and renovations who is confident working independently and solving problems as they arise.
The right person will be practical, capable and take pride in leaving a job properly finished.
About the role
The work will be varied and may include general property maintenance, repairs, renovation work, carpentry-related tasks, patching, minor demolition, fit-off work, replacing damaged items and attending jobs where the problem may need to be assessed before the solution is obvious.
Because of the nature of maintenance work, we need someone who enjoys figuring things out.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has proven hands-on experience in property maintenance, renovations or a similar role
- Has their own reliable ute or suitable work vehicle
- Has their own tools
- Holds a current Australian driver's licence
- Is confident working independently
- Shows initiative and can work out what needs to happen without needing constant direction
- Is practical and a strong problem solver
- Enjoys challenging and varied jobs
- Can assess a maintenance issue and determine a sensible solution
- Has a broad range of practical building and repair skills
- Produces neat, professional work
- Understands their own skill limits and knows when a licensed trade is required
- Can communicate professionally with clients
- Is reliable and punctual
- Keeps their work area clean and organised
- Can manage materials and tools required for their jobs
- Can provide clear information about what they have found, what work has been completed and whether additional work is required
- Doesn't take shortcuts simply because a job is small
- Takes ownership of the quality of their work
This role would suit someone who enjoys being given a problem, working out the best way to fix it and getting on with the job.
