Spuds Marquee Hire and The Fun Depot are two of Western Australia's leading event hire companies, supplying marquees, amusement equipment, event furniture, generators and a wide range of equipment for weddings, corporate events, schools, festivals and private functions.
We're looking for a motivated, mechanically minded Equipment Maintenance & Warehouse Assistant to help keep our equipment in excellent condition and ensure our warehouse operates efficiently.
About the Role
This is a hands-on role that combines mechanical maintenance with warehouse operations. You'll be responsible for inspecting, servicing, repairing, cleaning and preparing equipment ready for hire while helping maintain a safe, organised and efficient warehouse.
No two days are the same. One day you may be servicing generators or repairing amusement equipment, and the next you could be preparing marquees, loading trucks or carrying out preventative maintenance across our hire fleet.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance
- Inspect, test and maintain hire equipment to ensure it is safe, reliable and ready for use.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and complete repairs.
- Carry out preventative maintenance on equipment and vehicles.
- Service generators, trailers and other mechanical equipment.
- Repair event and amusement equipment as required.
- Replace damaged or worn components.
- Maintain workshop tools and equipment.
- Record completed maintenance and report major repair requirements.
Warehouse Operations
- Clean, inspect and prepare equipment for upcoming hires.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles.
- Assist with receiving returned equipment and checking for damage.
- Maintain an organised warehouse and workshop.
- Assist with stocktakes and inventory control.
- Ensure equipment is stored safely and efficiently.
General Duties
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
- Assist with deliveries, installations and pack-downs when required.
- Work closely with the operations team to meet event schedules.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and warehouse efficiency.
- Assist with general duties as required.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Mechanical experience with the ability to diagnose and repair equipment.
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Current Australian driver's licence.
- Reliable with a strong work ethic.
Highly Regarded
- Experience working with small engines, generators or trailers.
- Welding or fabrication experience.
- Forklift licence.
- Electrical fault-finding experience.
- Experience in equipment hire, automotive, agricultural, construction or machinery maintenance.

Pay: $34.00 per hour
