Please do not apply for this position unless you have read this advertisement in full.
This is a highly specialised role supporting a participant with Autism Spectrum Disorder Level 3 who is non verbal. Every part of this advertisement has been written for a reason. If you choose to apply, we will assume you have carefully read and understood the expectations, responsibilities and long term commitment required for this role.
This is not an entry level support worker role.
This is meaningful work. It requires patience, skill, emotional maturity, consistency and humanity.
We deeply admire people who have the best intentions and genuinely want to help others. However, good intentions alone are not enough for this participant. We are looking for someone who has demonstrated success supporting people with complex autism and can provide professional references that can confidently validate their experience, skills and ability to achieve positive outcomes.
This participant deserves someone who is experienced, calm, consistent and committed.
More than anything, this participant deserves someone who understands that support work, when done properly, can change the entire direction of a person’s life.
This role is only suitable for someone who is genuinely looking for a long term position. If you are planning to relocate, unsure where you will be living over the next 12 months, considering changing careers, or still figuring out what you want to do professionally, we respectfully ask that you do not apply.
For this participant, consistency is not a preference. It is essential.
Every meaningful relationship that ends creates another loss. Moving from one support worker to another can be incredibly distressing and disruptive. We are looking for someone who wants to become part of the solution and break the cycle.
This is an opportunity to be part of something much bigger than a roster, a shift, or a job title.
It is an opportunity to help create safety, trust, freedom, confidence and joy in the life of someone who depends on the people around them to get it right.
You will become part of Hearts In Action, working in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, with the participant and their family at the heart.
Ongoing training and mentoring will be provided by us and a range of allied health professionals. We have intentionally built a strong network of providers who work together in synergy with clearly defined roles, open communication and shared goals.
As a support worker, not only will you play a critical role in implementing strategies, but you will have the opportunity to create a difference in someone's life who depends on you.
The right person will not see this as simply providing care.
The right person will see this as helping someone build a life.
About You
You have proven experience supporting participants who require high intensity support.
You can provide strong professional references that clearly demonstrate your experience.
You remain calm, emotionally regulated and level headed, even during challenging situations.
You consistently keep the participant's needs at the centre of every decision.
You can implement structured support strategies and work alongside allied health professionals.
You understand that this role is based on evidence informed practice.
You are reliable, flexible and committed to continuous learning.
You are looking for a long term career, not simply another job.
You want to be part of the solution to creating a brighter future for this person.
You understand that small actions, repeated with care and consistency, can become life changing.
What We Offer
A permanent opportunity to become an integral part of one participant's life.
The role will start off as sleep over shifts and progress to day shifts.
Day shifts will be 9am - 5pm.
Ongoing mentoring and professional development from experienced allied health professionals.
A genuinely supportive leadership team that values quality over quantity.
The opportunity to grow professionally within a registered NDIS provider that invests heavily in doing things the right way.
Competitive pay and opportunities for future career progression.
The opportunity to be part of a team that believes better is possible, and is committed to doing the work required to make better happen.
Somewhere ahead is a better version of this participant’s life.
A life with more trust.
More connection.
More freedom.

That life will not happen by accident. It will be built by the right people showing up consistently, learning, listening, following professional guidance and choosing to do the hard things with care.
If you are someone who understands the responsibility that comes with supporting a person with complex autism, values consistency above convenience, and wants to make a lasting difference in someone's life, we would love to hear from you.
