About the role
This role will act as the technical link between our clients, sales team, delivery specialists and technology partners. You will work with customers to understand their operational and technical requirements, then design and demonstrate solutions using the Hexagon/Octave Geospatial portfolio and complementary Veris capabilities.
The position will suit someone with strong geospatial technology knowledge who enjoys working with clients, solving complex business problems, and translating technical capabilities into clear, practical outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Work with clients and Veris stakeholders to understand business, operational and technical requirements.
- Design fit-for-purpose solutions using products from the Hexagon/Octave Geospatial portfolio.
- Deliver software demonstrations, technical presentations, workshops and solution briefings.
- Develop solution architectures, workflows and integration concepts for cloud, on-premises and hybrid environments.
- Scope and support proofs of concept, pilots and technical evaluations.
- Provide technical input into proposals, tenders, quotations and statements of work.
- Assist with software licensing, product configuration and technical suitability assessments.
- Respond to technical questions during the sales process and help address customer concerns.
- Collaborate with Veris teams across GIS, application development, surveying, reality capture, engineering and advisory services.
- Work closely with Octave and other technology partners to validate proposed solutions and identify new opportunities.
- Support the transition of successful opportunities from pre-sales into implementation, professional services and ongoing support.
- Help develop reusable demonstrations, technical documentation, case studies and sales-enablement material.
- Maintain an understanding of relevant technology trends, competitor offerings and developments across the broader Octave portfolio.
About you
You will bring:
- Practical knowledge of the Hexagon/Octave Geospatial portfolio, ideally including experience with one or more of the following:
- Octave Alto Data Management, formerly ERDAS Apollo
- Alto Enterprise, formerly M.App Enterprise
- IMAGINE or ER Mapper
- Octave Alto formerly Luciad Fusion, LuciadRIA or LuciadLightspeed
- GeoMedia or GeoMedia Smart Client
- ECW/JP2 technology, GeoCompressor or associated SDKs
- Experience in a pre-sales, solution consulting, technical consulting or enterprise GIS role.
- The ability to understand customer challenges and translate them into clear technical solutions and business outcomes.
- Experience presenting and demonstrating technology to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A sound understanding of geospatial data, enterprise GIS, spatial databases, web services and systems integration.
- Strong written communication skills, including experience contributing to proposals, tenders and technical documentation.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work across sales, technical and delivery teams.
- The confidence to manage multiple opportunities and engage with stakeholders at different organisational levels.
