About the role
SLS requires a Laboratory Technician to join our Melbourne (Williamstown North) NATA accredited Chemical Testing Laboratory to perform sampling on soil, water, and air samples in a fast-paced laboratory.
What we are looking for is a technically oriented person with great attention to detail ready to start their scientific career, Recent graduates, or someone with 1 - 2 years' experience
Your main responsibilities will include:

Weighing and preparation of the samples

Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and instrumentation in accordance with national standards

Log Samples into LIMS as well as other administrative tasks

Contribute to the maintenance of laboratory quality control and quality assurance systems

Report low stock of consumables, standards, chemicals etc

Record and maintain accurate test results and documentation
Skills and experience that are required:

Ability to work in team or independently

Ability to reason and interpret with good attention to detail and clear record keeping

Intermediate or higher in Microsoft Word and Excel

Must be Australian Citizen or Permanent resident
