Job Title: Disability Support Worker

About the Role:
We are seeking someone experienced, competent, and skilled in providing the following:
- Domestic Assistance services
- Assistance with community access services
- Assistance with self-care routine
- Meal preparation
- Mental Health Supports (compulsive accumulation, depression, anxiety)
- Companionship
- Support the participants in their home and across the community
- Engage in risk assessments as preventive measures
Key Responsibilities
- Participation in incident management process
- Follow our safety instructions and support plans of participants
- Awareness in mental health issues (Compulsive accumulation)
- Willing to support the participants in their homes and community
- Domestic Assistance
- Offer companionship
- Have listening skills
- Available for short shifts
- Willing to support participants in their home and across the community
- Friendly with pets (dogs, cats, and chicken)
- Provide person-centred support
- Support with daily living tasks.
- Assist in building the participant’s independence and life skills.
- Maintain clear, detailed shift notes and incident reports in line with NDIS standards.
- Foster a trust-based, trauma-informed relationship that encourages stability and growth
- Collaborate closely with the participant’s support coordinator, family, and allied health professionals to ensure consistent care
- Uphold and promote the participant’s rights, dignity, and choice in all aspects of support
What We Expect
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Participation in incident management process
- Follow our safety instructions and support plans of participants
- Awareness in mental health issues (Compulsive accumulation)
- Willing to support the participants in their homes and community
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with clients in a respectful and positive manner.
- Experience working with trauma-informed care frameworks (highly regarded)
- A high level of professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail.
Mandatory Requirements
- Local in Ballarat
- Current First Aid Certificate & CPR.
- VIC Working with Children Check (WWCC) and NDIS Worker Check.
- Valid Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle for commuting and client transportation.
- Up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination certificate (including booster) and flu vaccination.
- Completion of NDIS Supporting Effective Communication and Worker Orientation modules.
Preferred Qualifications and requirements:
- Education or qualifications in Disability Support or similar fields.
- Prior experience working with participants
- WILLING TO START IMMEDITALY.
