Lotterywest is also the employing agency for Healthway, the only State Government department dedicated to health promotion. For over 30 years, Healthway has funded projects and research to inspire Western Australians to live healthier lives.
About the job
1x Full-Time Permanent opportunity
In this key role, you will represent Lotterywest as the official spokesperson and be responsible for developing and implementing communications, public relations (PR), media advice and communication plans to drive Lotterywest brand awareness.
Reporting to and supporting the Senior Manager Media and Communications, you will provide advice to the CEO and senior executives in relation to media and ministerial requests as required.
The role has the following key areas of focus:
- Official spokesperson duties, including participating in TV and radio interviews and preparing media releases and ministerial media releases
- Strategic PR and communications planning and implementation
- Media liaison
- Stakeholder engagement
- Contentious issues and risk management
- Evaluation and reporting to support continuous improvement
- Team management and leadership
We’re looking for
- A decisive and experienced PR / media and communications manager
- A natural leader who can coach and develop a team and stakeholders
- Strong planning and organisational skills with ability to manage competing deadlines
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with a broad range of stakeholders
