At Malabar South Indian Restaurant, We are looking for a chef/cook with extensive knowledge and skill in Indian cooking.
This is a full time position working both lunch and dinner shifts.
Duties
It is a 100% hands on position, preparing produce and meats for cooking, cooking on the range and developing new dishes. We work in a team, but you must be able to take initiatives to improve and develop.
Requirements
To be successful in the role you should have:
- Demonstrated experience in a la carte and function work in a similar environment
- Sound knowledge of commercial cooking and experience working with Indian cuisine
- Friendly and flexible disposition that encourages client and customer feedback and that demonstrate a high level of professionalism at all times.
- Joining the existing Team and reporting to the Head Chef, this position will ideally suit an applicant with at least 2-3 years experience.
Required experience:
- Chef/Cook : 2 years
- Qualification Cert IV in Commercial Cookery and Diploma of Hospitality Management
- Required language:
- English
- Tamil / Malayalam would be advantageous although not necessary
