Perth Montessori School is seeking a flexible, practical and student-centred Secondary Generalist Teacher to join our Adolescent Program part-time (approx. 0.5FTE) for Term 3 and 4, 2026.
This is a varied teaching role within our secondary program, with a particular focus on teaching Year 7 and 8 Mathematics, supporting students with integrated projects, community work and enterprise, and contributing to the broader life of the Adolescent Program.
The successful applicant will work closely with current teaching staff to support students across project-based learning, practical work, individual learning goals and community-connected experiences. The role also includes supporting Physical Education while students attend external courses and activities.
This position would suit a teacher who enjoys working collaboratively, is adaptable in their approach, and values purposeful, hands-on learning. The successful applicant will be comfortable working across different areas of learning and supporting students beyond a traditional subject-based classroom model.
Key responsibilities include:

Teaching Year 7 and 8 Mathematics
- Supporting students with integrated project work, community work and enterprise activities
- Assisting current teaching staff with the planning, supervision and delivery of practical and interdisciplinary learning experiences
- Supporting Physical Education and related activities, including where students attend external courses or programs
- Working collaboratively with the Adolescent Program team
- Supporting students’ independence, organisation, engagement and individual learning goals
- Contributing to the broader life of the school community, including camps, community events and school-based projects
The successful applicant will:

Be a registered teacher, or eligible for registration, in Western Australia
- Have experience or confidence teaching Mathematics at lower secondary level
- Be flexible, practical and responsive in their approach
- Enjoy working as part of a close and collaborative team
- Be willing to support students across a range of learning experiences, including project-based, practical and community-connected work
- Have an interest in Montessori education, adolescent development and personalised learning
- Be comfortable supporting students beyond traditional classroom teaching
Montessori experience is highly desirable, but not essential. A willingness to learn and work within the Montessori philosophy is important.
