About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager, the Commercial Advisor supports the commercial management of strategic customer contracts and commercial activities across the business. The role provides commercial advice, contract administration, contract change management, commercial governance support, and commercial input into proposals, quotations, and business cases.
Working closely with program, finance, legal, and operational stakeholders, the Commercial Advisor will help ensure contractual obligations are understood and effectively managed while supporting the achievement of positive commercial outcomes and strong customer relationships.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity based in Osborne, South Australia.
Responsibilities
- Provide commercial advice and contract management support to program and business stakeholders, ensuring contractual compliance, effective risk management, and adherence to governance requirements.
- Support the development, negotiation, and implementation of contract changes, commercial agreements, and other initiatives that support business objectives.
- Provide commercial advice and input relating to quotations, estimates, business cases, proposals, and customer submissions.
- Support commercial aspects of program delivery, including risk management, issue resolution, performance monitoring, and reporting.
- Prepare, review, and maintain commercial documentation, correspondence, contractual notices, registers, and reports.Build and maintain effective working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Provide commercial insight and recommendations to support informed decision-making and positive commercial outcomes.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of commercial processes, systems, and governance practices.
About you
- Degree in Commerce, Law, Business, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Experience in a commercial, contract management, business advisory, project support, or similar role.
- Sound understanding of contracts, commercial principles, and contract administration practices.
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare professional correspondence, reports, and contractual documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and digital business systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
