Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Indian Chef with a deep knowledge of regional Indian cuisine, including a variety of curries, tandoori, biryanis, and more. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, a strong understanding of Indian spices, and the ability to manage a busy kitchen. You will be responsible for preparing dishes, designing menus, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare authentic Indian dishes, including vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, with a focus on high-quality ingredients and traditional cooking methods.
- Manage daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, inventory control, and ordering ingredients.
- Design and implement seasonal menus and daily specials that reflect the rich diversity of Indian cuisine.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Train and manage kitchen staff, ensuring efficient teamwork and maintaining a positive work environment.
- Monitor food costs and portion control, minimizing waste and optimizing kitchen efficiency.
- Stay updated on culinary trends, bringing new ideas to the menu while preserving traditional recipes.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Chef specializing in Indian cuisine.
- In-depth knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, and traditional cooking techniques (tandoor, curries, biryanis, etc.).
- Ability to create balanced, flavorful dishes and accommodate customer preferences (spice levels, dietary restrictions, etc.).
- Strong leadership and kitchen management skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus.
