Forensicare is Victoria's specialist provider of forensic mental health services. We deliver recovery-focused care for people living with serious mental illness who are connected to, or at risk of contact with, the justice system.
Working across secure inpatient, prison and community settings, our services support recovery, rehabilitation and community reintegration while promoting safety, human rights and person-centred care.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Social Worker (AHP3) to join our multidisciplinary team at Ravenhall Correctional Centre.
In this role, you will deliver high-quality social work services that support recovery-oriented, trauma-informed and rights-based care. You will undertake psychosocial and criminogenic assessments, contribute to care and risk management planning, and provide specialist interventions to consumers and their families/carers.
You will play a key role in advocating for consumer rights, facilitating access to community supports and services, and contributing to service development and quality improvement initiatives. The role provides the opportunity to influence positive outcomes for consumers within a unique and rewarding forensic mental health environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and formulate evidence - informed interventions.
- Support consumers, families and carers through education, advocacy and referrals.
- Provide specialist consultation to clinical and custodial stakeholders.
- Participate in supervision, training and development of students and junior staff.
- Maintain high-quality clinical documentation and participate in safe care practices.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Social Work.
- Eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Demonstrated post -qualification social work experience.
- Strong understanding of recovery-orientated practice and risk assessment principles.
- Proven ability to manage complex cases and work with multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and report writing skills.
