Position Overview:
The Marketing Specialist will lead VPA’s Melbourne-based events, activations, and local marketing activity. This role suits someone hands-on, organised, confident with people, and passionate about fitness, sport, and community building. You will help plan and execute events, support brand partnerships, create local content, and drive customer engagement across Melbourne.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and execute Melbourne-based events, activations, expos, gym visits, community sessions, and retail partner activations.
- Represent VPA at events, run clubs, sporting events, and partner locations.
- Build relationships with Melbourne gyms, fitness communities, athletes, and ambassadors.
- Support local marketing campaigns to grow brand awareness, engagement, and sales.
- Capture event content, including photos, videos, behind-the-scenes clips, and social media assets.
- Manage event logistics, including venue coordination, product stock, samples, signage, staffing, run sheets, and post-event reporting.
- Work with the internal marketing team to plan social media content, event promotion, EDM support, and campaign messaging.
- Assist with retail and wholesale partner activations, including in-store promotions, product education, and local launch support.
- Track event performance, customer feedback, attendance, content output, and sales impact.
- Research Melbourne fitness trends, competitor activity, local events, and partnership opportunities.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in marketing, events, partnerships, brand activations, or community management.
- Experience in health, fitness, sport, supplements and retail.
- Strong event coordination and organisation skills.
- Confident communication skills
- Strong understanding of social media, content creation, and digital marketing.
- Good copywriting and communication skills.
- Comfortable capturing basic photo and video content for social media.
- Able to work independently in Melbourne while staying aligned with the wider VPA team.
- Valid driver’s licence preferred.
- Regular access to a car.
- Flexibility to work some weekends, early mornings or late eventings for events.
